Currently, Tennessee has signed formal reciprocity agreements with nine (9) states. They are Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia. In addition to these states, a person who possess a valid Tennessee handgun permit, can legally be armed in the following states: Alaska, Idaho, Indiana, Michigan, Montana, Utah, and Vermont.Persons with valid Tennessee handgun carry permits should contact the reciprocal state for information on carrying handguns prior to entering the state.
