• Primarily battered women and their children, although victims of both genders are assisted. • Over 130,000 men women and children have been assisted since 1978. • 70% of children sheltered are pre-school age and younger. • 80% of women sheltered are young moms in their 20’s and early 30’s. • Hotline counselors responded to 13,993 crisis calls this past year. • The counseling office provided 2,107 therapy sessions this past year. • Last year, 4,756 students were provided information on dating violence prevention. • Last year, training and community education on domestic violence was provided to over 3,000 individuals. • Over 7,000 victims were assisted in obtaining orders for protection this past year.
