Who do you think are the most attractive female musicians/vocalists in classical music today?
Well, I’m a girl, but I agree on Netrebko. 🙂 The publicity shots of her are overdone, but publicity shots always are. I happen to think Anne-Sophie Mutter is lovely; physically she’s maybe not that striking, but she has such poise! Putting together her talent (her version of the Mendelssohn is still my favorite) and her presence, I think she’s gorgeous. She reminds me of the old actresses who were perfectly trained in elocution and manners Check out my recent question on opera divas and beauty, it’s kind of the same idea 🙂 I know you asked about current musicians, but I still think Schwarzkopf was beautiful. I have no respect for modern actresses, they’ve all had surgery! (Even if they hide it well and lie about it, like Nicole Kidman. She wasn’t naturally that beautiful, not even close). Athletes, though, can still be natural beauties. I’ve always thought Ivanovic was cute and that Sharapova was a queen, even if their modeling photos are doctored.
I think that all those unoriginal babrbie doll sluts on mtv who are really popular are so fake. They are not pretty they are just sellouts and they think they are really good looking and all they care about is money. Not music. I like women singers who are real, use their real down to earth voice and include the whole band not just themselves. And also care more about music than money. Those ones are so much better. My favorite singer is Dolores Oriordan from The Cranberries which is my favorite band. She is so beautiful I am jealous! And she makes real, original music. This is her: http://public.fotki.
