Who do u think is the best rock or punk rock band?
The best rock band in my opinion is Midnight Oil. They were really great at writing political songs that were radio freindly and enjoyable for the masses. They did great stuff, lots of benefit shows and drew attention to causes all over the world. The coolest thing they did was stage a phoney documentary in New York City and then play a set in front of the Exxon building in protest of the Exxon Valdez oil spill up in Alaska. It was awesome and you should check it out on youtube sometime. The best punk band is easilly The Clash. Though they didn’t always stay with the strict punk sound they were true punks. They too were able to write political songs and songs that raised social awareness and make them catchy and enjoyable for the masses. The Clash are easilly the best punk band of all time and probably one of the top 5 bands of all time. They did it all, ska, reggae, punk, rap type stuff, new wavey experimental stuff. They were way ahead of their time.
