Who do u like better when it comes to vampire fiction : ANNE RICE or STEPHENIE MEYER???
Honestly, I don’t see anything similar between Anne Rice’s Chronicles and Twilight that would warrant a comparison, except for the fact that there are vampires involved. For starters, they don’t belong in the same genre. One is adult paranormal fiction, the other is young adult paranormal romance. Anne Rice’s style is richly descriptive and complex. Some people don’t like her style for that reason. Stephenie Meyer’s is so dumbed down that a 10 year old can read her books. The themes involved and the nature of the relationships in Anne Rice’s are fully adult in their complexity. That is not the case with Stephanie Meyer’s, which is mostly a boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, enter antagonist that also wants the girl, boy realizes he wants to fight for girl and keep her, and wins. That is not what Anne Rice’s books are about.
