Immediately surrounding Jesus on cross are statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. John the Divine (Apostle and Evangelist). Starting in upper left hand corner, going in a clockwise direction are: St. James (Bishop of Jerusalem, Brother of Our Lord), St. Ignatius (Bishop of Antioch), St. Cyprian (Bishop of Carthage), St. Athanasius (Bishop of Alexandria), St. Columba (Abbot of Iona), St. Augustine (First Archbishop of Canterbury), The Right Reverend Samuel Seabury (First Bishop of the Episcopal Church), The Right Reverend Alfred Harding (Second Bishop of Washington, DC, Third Rector of St. Paul’s).
