The Michiana Water Authority offers free water shutoffs for the winter and turnons for the spring. Take advantage of this service as the winter weather will freeze your pipes and burst causing excessive water damage. The Water Authority is not responsible for the maintenance of private property. It is the property owner’s responsibility to drain their pipes and perform any other maintenance. Keep water meters uncovered when doing landscaping and yard projects. You can call the office for location of your meter. A fee of $500 will be imposed for covered water meters.
