lexpolice@ci.lexington.va.us If weeds are in excess of 15 inches or present a traffic, fire, or other hazard, the Police Department can require the property owner to remedy the matter. If the property owner is non-responsive within 10 days of receiving a certified letter from the City requiring action, the lot will be cleared and the owner will be billed for the expenses. City Code Chapter 18, Article II.
