Who did we fight during the revolutionary war?
~Surely you can remember how to use a search engine? I’m sure if you pop “American Revolution” into one, anything you find might identify the belligerents. Of course, you must identify “we”. At the peak of the independence movement, only 1/3 of the colonists favored the cause. Of the balance, half remained loyal and half never chose sides (thus, I suppose, since they did not support the treason, they too remained loyal). It was not a revolution. The goal was for colonial independence, not the overthrow of the national government of Great Britain. It was a war for colonial independence or a civil war, with British fighting British.
