It was down to ten finalists who came to the New York city to be the “Next Food Network Star”, but Sunday night the audience got to witness the cook off between the early front runner Jeffrey Saad and the 40 year old ‘underdog’ Melissa d’Arabian, with the latter bagging the first prize, thus being crowned as the “Next Food Network Star”. As the winner of the grand show which is a hit amongst the audience (mostly among kitchen aficionados), Melissa bagged her own show at the Food Network, which will be on air within a week or so. She will also be featured in the network’s magazine as the chef, who claims to be more of a ‘house cook’ and stay-at-home mom, won the competition which at one point seemed to belong to Jeffrey Saad. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” said an overwhelmed Melissa as she hugged her four daughters and her husband. “I am amazed and grateful and ready to work. Melissa now stars in her own cooking show, and it starts in just one week. From the beginning of the reality TV show competition, Melissa stood out from the pack — and not just because of her sunny smile.
