Who develops and administers the CVN Board Certification Examination?
The ABCM assembles advisory panels of experts, all of whom are Board Certified Nurses or Cardiologists, to write questions and develop each examination process. Depending on the specialty, the committee consists of non-acute, acute, interventional, nursing and medical academicians, and practitioners. Each question is reviewed twice by the exam committee, then revised or rejected as appropriate. As a final step, questions are rated for relevance to clinical practice by active nursing clinicians in that field. Cardiovascular Nursing Board Certified Nurses, and physicians are invited to submit questions for committee review, revision, and selection.
