Who developed Tandalay and why?
a. Tandalay Curriculum is the brain-child of Tami Phillips, MS., Kinesiology. After years in the fitness industry, developing certification programs and teaching workshops for Personal Trainers and Group Fitness Instructors, Tami began teaching the college course “PE for Children.” b. Upon researching the current status of physical education in the city, state, and nation, Tami felt compelled to provide a solution. That solution needed to address a number of issues: i. It needed to be simple so that teachers would not need to spend additional time in prep. ii. It needed to be FUN so that students would WANT to participate iii. It needed to be non-intimidating so that ALL students would feel successful and enjoy enhanced self-esteem. iv.
