Who determines the rules for delivery of local and distant network programming?
Congress, by means of the Satellite Home Viewer Extension and Reauthorization Act (SHVERA), determines DIRECTV’s ability to deliver network programming. SHVERA defines how and if DIRECTV can deliver local broadcast television and distant network signal programming. It also defines the eligibility criteria that we must follow before providing these services, and our rights and obligations if we offer these services.
