Who determines Continental Academys curriculum and academic standards?
All Continental Academy courses are designed by state-certified, public-school instructors. These teachers, who hold credentials in specific subject areas like language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and such “elective” disciplines as health and computer sciences, create or select curriculum materials and design lesson plans based on Sunshine State Standards and National Standards. All course programs are reviewed annually by Continental Academy’s curriculum content board. This board is composed of educational administrators and at least one independent educational consultant with post-graduate credentials in secondary level educational design. Grading standards (including recognition of transferred honor credits) follow current State of Florida Guidelines for Public Schools.
