Who decides what drugs are in which tier?
A national panel of pharmacists and physicians that includes Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin and CompcareBlue providers conducts quarterly reviews. All new brand-name drugs are classified as Tier 3 until they can be reviewed. Most drug classes are reviewed annually. Please note the formulary is not inclusive of all drug classes or products. Members must pay the Tier 3 copayment for any drug not included in our formulary.
