Who decides if a student can get credit for an Independent Study course?
The school that will carry the credits on the student’s record. Students may come to you to get permission to take Independent Study courses. Please provide them with the appropriate forms required by your school for off-campus study. Most high schools accept Portland State University Independent Study courses. The Independent Study program is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
