The specifications for the format were agreed upon by the representatives from the tennis industry—the USTA, Tennis Industry Association (TIA), Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) and United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA). The specifications were agreed upon based on lessons learned from pilot programs that were conducted by tennis professionals operating some of the largest and most successful 10 and under programs in the country.
