LME has been transitioning to the SEM for the past five years. Based on its initial success, the Site-Based Advisory Committee (SBAC), a group of parents, teachers, and community liaisons who work in an advisory capacity with LME Principal Jan Richards, began exploring the idea of moving forward with a full-scale implementation. Approximately 10% of the parent population at LME was presented with the model; after reviewing all of their feedback, it was determined that SBAC had a mandate to move forward with the full-scale implementation.
