Who created the first nuclear weapon?
The project which led to the development of the first nuclear fission bomb was called “The Manhattan Project” and was conducted in the USA by an international team of scientists headed by Robert Oppenheimer, and including such scientists as Albert Einstein, Neils Bohr and Richard Feynman. After seeing the detonation of the bomb for the first time in the New Mexico desert, Oppenheimer famously said “Now, I am become death, the destroyer of worlds”.
