Who created the ENERGY STAR Windows Program?
The ENERGY STAR Windows Program was created by the United States Environmental Protection Agency to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Most electrical energy is produced by burning fossil fuels, which causes air pollution, smog, and global warming. By using energy more efficiently, we can reduce pollution. Computer equipment was the first product to receive ENERGY STAR recognition. The United States Department of Energy has joined the EPA in promoting energy efficient products, and the number of products has grown to include consumer electronics, appliances, windows, roofing, even homes and buildings.
