Who Created the Braille System?
The braille system was created in France by Louis Braille (1809-1852). Louis Braille became blind at the age of three because of an accident in his father’s workshop. In 1824, when he turned 15, he had already developed his system. The braille system is now used throughout the world. The braille system is a highly developed set of geometric patterns that form a literacy system for the blind. It employs a set of six raised dots known as a cell.
