Who could be recognized as todays Tragic Hero?

I’m not sure I agree with your MacBeth refrence, as MacBeth was clearly not a hero, he was an anti-hero. Hamlet, however, was a tragic Hero, as he was fighting for the right, but all of his actions led to tragedy. Some might see President Bush in this, as his actions have led to tragedy as well; I cannot agree, as he is no hero, and acts only for his own advancement, and the profit of his cronies. In fact, I have a hard time thinking of anyone to consider a ‘hero’ in todays world, unless you are will to consider the mundane, like sports hero’s. Che Guevera might have qualified, dead these forty some odd years. He certain seemed well meaning, though the results were not always what he had hoped I suspect. Maybe Ralph Nader? Yes, I guess I would go with good old Ralph; he was certainly always well meaning, but there is something sad about what he has become. That’s my answer…
