Committees of NMSC professional staff choose winners from among eligible candidates. The committees review each candidate’s academic record, essay, demonstrated leadership in school and community activities, and a high school official’s recommendation. Scholarship recipients are the candidates judged to have the strongest combination of abilities, skills, and accomplishments.
