Who chooses FLAS award recipients?

The CMES Governing Board members review each application and then meet to choose recipients. The Governing Board consists of University of Arizona faculty from a range of departments and members of the local community. Currently the Board includes the CMES Director, the FLAS Coordinator, the NES Department head, the Executive Director of MESA, the Middle Eastern Studies Librarian, one professor from each of History, Political Science, NES, Journalism and the Business School, and a member of the local community.
