Who cares if its Intel Inside?
In any case, if there’s one thing we can learn from Apple’s most recent financials, it’s this: nobody really cares all that much about what goes in the box. Apple had record Mac sales, in spite of its lackluster—or even nonexistent—system updates. The systems look nice, and they run Mac OS X, and that’s really all that matters. Switching from tried-and-true Intel to AMD for a dubious performance advantage that may not even materialize just doesn’t make sense. It’s not a good gamble: the payoff isn’t there. Mac sales are still important to Apple, but maintaining the hardware and software aesthetic is the priority, not having absolute balls-to-the-wall performance. Memory that takes a few nanoseconds longer to access isn’t going to matter to anyone. Which brings us to the smartphone question.
