Who can treat spinal problems better? A neurosurgeon or an orthopedic surgeon?
There is no good answer to this, since both sides usually have had good training and are board certified in their particular specialty. I have included a short article from Spine Universe that seems to address this question fairly well, but I think it really boils down to experience. If the neurosurgeon or orthopedic surgeon is one who does the procedure frequently, then the next question is “how frequently?” and try to get a sense of the success rate.
