Our Math/English Language for Academic Studies (ELAS) program is not a program to which students apply to – directly. They must apply to a program within the Faculty of Mathematics, at the University of Waterloo, and be offered admission as an undergraduate student. Undergraduate students who have been ‘conditionally’ accepted to the Faculty of Mathematics (and/or School of Computer Science) at the University of Waterloo, and who have submitted a TOEFL score, or an alternative english language tests, would be eligible for an alternate offer through our Math/English Language for Academic Study (ELAS) program. Students who are strong in mathematics but weaker in English are given the opportunity to enter this university by successfully improving their English language skills through the Math/ELAS program and qualify for full-time studies in a Regular program in the Faculty of Mathematics.
