Who can take the Basic RiderCourse?

Anyone who is at least 16 years old and is able to ride a bicycle can take the Basic RiderCourse. (Students under age 18 will need the notarized signature of a parent or guardian. We will send you the form when you enroll.

RiderCourse students must be at least 16 years of age and be able to ride a bicycle in order to participate. Students under the age of 18 will need to have their parent or guardian’s signature on the New York State Motorcycle Safety Program waiver. The parent or guardian can accompany the student to class and sign the form in the presence of the RiderCoach (with appropriate ID) or the student can bring a signed and notarized form to class with them.
