Who can take SCOM classes?
For all Science students and Advanced Science students, in any year of their studies, SCOM2014 will count as 6 units of credit (UOC) of Science. Some study plans in the Virtual Handbook explicitly refer to ‘electives’, ‘elective subjects’ or ‘science electives’. SCOM2014 does indeed count as one of these subjects, as do all SCOM courses. Certain subjects in some majors are ‘recommended’ as an elective, but that does not mean that you have to take them. You can choose SCOM2014 to replace a ‘recommended’ elective. In fact, according to his quote above, SCOM2014 is ‘recommended’ by the Dean of Science. Do you have an opportunity in your study plan to take SCOM2014?
