Who can take part in The Times Spelling Bee Championship for Schools?

0

The Times Spelling Bee Championship is the UK’s first national spelling competition for schools and is open to all schools in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland with pupils aged 11-12 years (as at 1 September 2008 in Year 7, or equivalent). Entry to the championship in 2009 is now closed. (To take part in the 2009 championship, schools were required to register interest to take part last year – deadline was 19 December 2008 – and were required to submit their team details to The Times by January 30 2009). School teams comprise four eligible pupils – three competitors and a reserve. Each registered school can only enter one team. Applications from individual children and home schooled children are not permitted.
