Who can submit an obituary/in memoriam ad?
The deadline for placing obituaries is by 4:30 p.m. the day before you want it to appear in the paper. All obituaries must have verification- contact information for the funeral home handling the arrangements or a copy of the death certificate. If the obituary is being submitted by the deceased’s family, the News & Record can only accept one version of the obit from one member of the family. If other family members wish to place a message, they will be published as an In Memoriam ad.
