Who Can Save Us From Our Drunken Stupor?
We march desperately on in the wrong direction, led astray by our lack of will to resist. Whatever is easy; whatever will dull the pain; whatever will allow us to hide, to escape the present reality. It doesn’t often matter if our heart says no. It only matters if it feels good. Yet in the silence, when all the noise has died down, we are left empty, because the little we settled for could not even come close to filling that hole in our soul. Right is always right no matter the circumstance. Truth is forever truth. When we choose to entertain the lie or for that matter let the lie entertain us, it only works to make that emptiness even that more painful. Oh why, o why o why do we settle for the lie? Why do we compromise what we know to be true for that which is false? Solomon wrote: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but that way leads to death.” How do I turn away from the highway to death and walk on the highway of life? Is there any one to show the way? Is there any manual I
