Who Can Request The Original Birth Certificate Of An Adopted Person?
If a new birth certificate is created at the time a person is adopted, the original birth certificate becomes confidential. In order to gain access to the original confidential birth record, a person must receive a written order from a court of competent jurisdiction allowing such person access to the original birth record. See Connecticut General Statutes 7-53.
