Who Can Recommend a Good NYC Fan Restoration Shop?
Two years ago I took a rattling fan to an old machine shop on 25th between 6th and 7th Aves, north side of the street, lots of clocks in the window. He took it apart, showed me how to oil it, put it back together and didn’t charge me. I’m sure that for a small fee you can skip the socializing part. Don’t know if he is still there, but there are a lot of different repair shops in the surrounding blocks right there. You ought to be able to find someone who can oil a fan and put it back together properly.
