Who can receive SDS Funds?
SDS funds are provided to eligible health professions and nursing schools that apply to the Department for funding each year and meet the eligibility criteria. To be eligible, a school must have a program of recruiting and retaining students from disadvantaged backgrounds and meet the Departments outcome measures. Schools are responsible for selecting recipients and providing scholarships to full-time, financially needy students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Schools are also responsible for making a reasonable determination of a student’s need. There is no service obligation for SDS scholarship recipients.
