Who can put a lien on my house and what a proper procedure to do it?
Better talk to a lawyer familiar with your state laws on notice requirement to file a lien But the post above is incorrect, in that you do not need to be in direct privity of contract with the supplier, the supplier is no different then a sub contractor on a job, you may have only have a contract with the GC, but if the GC does not pay the sub, the sub can place a lien on your place even if you paid the GC, happens often so talk to a lawyer hopefully they did not follow your states proper notice requirement but in the end you will probably have to pay it to get it removed
