Who can provide an orthosis or prosthesis prescription ?
In order to be reimbursed by the RAMQ, orthoses, prostheses and other so called conventional products must have been prescribed by a specialised orthopedic surgeon, physio therapist, rhumatologist, neurologist or neurosurgeon. Other products can be purchased at any time without a prescription. In some cases, the RAMQ will accept prescriptions drawn up by a general practitioner, pediatrician, cardiologist or lung specialist.
