Who can people say the book “Twilight” Is like Romeo and Juliet? ?
Ok. Firstly, I’d like to say that they should not be labeled as similar. When Stephenie said that the books were like Romeo and Juliet, she was referring to Twilight. Not New Moon. It is a beloved story of hers and she thinks that the original theme of Twilight, Forbidden Love, is how the stories are connected. However, as Twilight progresses further into the series, this theme disappears. So I’m not sure how Steph can justify the relationship between the two stories. Secondly, I’d like to say I’m a Team Jacob. I look at the Romeo and Juliet thing differently. They were star crossed lovers. Bella and Jacob that is. Their love was doomed from the beginning and would never be able to be together. But that’s not what Stephenie intended, so it’s not a viable assumption either.
