Who can participate in the avian influenza market?
The avian flu market (AFM) will be a closed, invitation-only market with participants limited to doctors, nurses, researchers, epidemiologists, public health officials and other workers in health care fields who have some knowledge of the virus’s potential development. AFM participants will be recruited through the Program for Monitoring Emerging Diseases (ProMED) — an international Web-based reporting system designed to distribute information about outbreaks of infectious diseases rapidly and globally.
