Who can participate in Special Olympics?

0

To be eligible to participate in Special Olympics, a potential athlete must be at least eight years old and identified by an agency or professional as having one of the following conditions: intellectual disability, cognitive delays as measured by formal assessment, or significant learning or vocational problems due to cognitive delay that require or have required specially designed instruction. Special Olympics does not cost anything to participate. A very helpful “Get an Athlete Involved” page has been created to walk you through the first steps in getting involved or getting someone involved as an athlete in Special Olympics Utah.
