They may make a direct crossing of a roadway, if accompanied on another ATV by a person 18 or older who possesses a valid driver’s license. • Anyone 16 and 17 may operate an ATV on public lands and frozen public waters (in the Designated Use Area) without a safety certificate. They must possess a valid driver’s license to cross roadways or operate on road rights-of-way. • Attention adults! A valid valid driver’s license is required to operate anywhere on road rights-of-way including ditches, inside/outside slopes, and crossing roads.
