Who can make an EPA (Enduring Power of Attorney) -Enduring Power of Attorney ?
You can make an EPA (Enduring Power of Attorney) if you have a diagnosis of dementia but you must be able to show that you understand what it is and what it is intended to do. A doctor’s advice should be obtained if there is any doubt about your capacity to understand. If the doctor confirms that you are able to understand, it is a good idea for them to witness your signature. You can also revoke an EPA (Enduring Power of Attorney) if you wish, but only while you are still considered to be mentally capable.
