Who can learn to twirl a baton?
The Starlets welcome twirlers from 5 years old and up. More often than not twirlers are young ladies, but there have been many very successful male twirlers as well. While baton groups across the country welcome anyone who is interested in the sport, twirling is not for everyone. And everyone approaches baton twirling in their own way. You may only want to attend a few classes and learn the basics of a skill few people have. Others will take their baton experience a bit more seriously and participate in events and march in parades. The most dedicated twirlers will advance to the competitive Super Starlets team and work the competition circuit in team and solo events. A select few will stick it out from childhood through high school and will go on to pursue twirling scholarships at top level US colleges. Whichever path you decide the Startlets is the best place to start.
