The group membership encompasses clinicians with a variety of theoretical orientations and practice modalities from all five boroughs and the NYC environs. LCSW social workers contemplating beginning a private clinical practice generally have several years of supervised experience doing clinical work in an agency setting, and many also have obtained post-masters degree institute training. The New York State licensing law requires that social workers practicing independently have the LCSW credential.
