Students should have an Ethernet card installed by their computer vendor. While it is possible to install an Ethernet card yourself, users should be aware that in some cases, the opening of the case of a computer by unauthorized personnel can void the warranty and/or service agreement on a machine. Check your warranty and/or service agreement before you attempt any self-installation. SIUE does NOT provide hardware support for student-owned equipment. Employees will have an Ethernet card installed in University-owned computers by the Office of Information Technology.
