In Manitoba, parents have the right to homeschool their children, but must notify the Manitoba Homeschooling Liason Officer of their intention to homeschool any child between the ages of 7 and 16. The rights and responsibilities of parents and legal guardians to homeschool their children are laid out in sections 260, 260.1, 262 of the Public Schools Act. A child may be removed from a public or private school at any time as long as the Homeschool Officer is notified within 30 days.
