Who can have laser hair removal?
With the growing interest in laser assisted hair removal treatment, new instruments have been designed to accommodate all skin types from light to dark. Historically, lighter skin types with dark hair color had the most success in achieving permanent hair reduction. Darker skin types suffered many adverse reactions to this initial laser design including hyper/hypo pigmentation, blistering, scaring etc. However, with the development of CANDELAs new Mini-GL and VP-YAG instruments their collective features can safely satisfy the needs of a broad range of diverse ethnicities. If you have a dark skin type be sure that the laser center you choose carries the variety of instruments needed to work on all skin types.
