Who Can Get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
Just about anyone can suffer from the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. The most common group of people who suffer from the condition are those who use their hands and wrists on a regular, or extensive, basis. This may include, but is not limited to athletes and people with careers requiring repetitive fine usage of the fingers and hands, as in factory work and assembly work. It was once thought that computer usage was a major factor in carpal tunnel syndrome, but a 2001 study performed by the Mayo Clinic found computer users were at no higher risk of carpal tunnel syndrome.
