Who can enforce Metro Vancouver’s GVRD Regional Parks Regulation Bylaw?

0

All Metro Vancouver staff are directed to inform and educate the public to achieve voluntary compliance. Many of our staff are appointed Park Officers; some of our Park Officers have the authority to issue Warnings, Municipal Ticket Informations and Notices of Bylaw Violation. If a Park Officer observes a problem but cannot directly speak with the person on site they may send a letter explaining the nature of the violation and ask for compliance. If compliance is not achieved, a ticket(s) may be issued or other formal legal proceedings may commence. Park Officers work with local police, the RCMP and BC Conservation Officers, as needed. Local police, the RCMP and BC Conservation Officers may also enforce the GVRD Regional Parks Regulation Bylaw 1048 (2006).
