WHO can donate to the Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Fund Commission?
Anyone can make a tax-deductible donation to the Trust Fund. Current applicants for a Trust Fund distribution can not make a donation if you have an active application open. WHY make a donation? There are many reasons to support the Trust Fund with your gifts, below are just a few: • The number of persons treated in a Georgia hospital with a traumatic brain injury has increased from 44,000 persons in 2004 to 57,000 in 2007- an increase of nearly thirty percent (data from the Central Registry of Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries in Georgia 2007). • The average cost of a grant (2007) to a Georgian with a traumatic brain or spinal cord injury from the Trust Fund has risen to $7,306. • The Trust Fund has recently raised the limit for funding for physical therapy, occupational therapy, cognitive therapy and neurobehavioral therapy to $15,000 per year. • Most private insurance will not cover the long-term costs associated with traumatic brain injury including cognitive and neurobehavi
